Pediatric dentistry, babies and pregnant women

It is the part of dentistry that deals with children, from birth to adolescence, including the group of people with special needs. Childhood is the most important time in terms of prevention, since the main thing is to establish healthy habits from an early age, in order to enjoy good oral health for the rest of your life. If the problems that may arise in the baby teeth do not get treated, the subsequent consequences can be serious and dangerous for the future permanent dentition.

Pregnancy involves a series of organic and behavioural changes that can affect the oral health, causing a greater risk of tooth decay and gum disease. The latter is crucial, since the hormonal changes that accompany pregnancy favour the appearance of gingivitis.

Caries is a non-eradicable disease, but 100% preventable. That is why it is important to have an examination as early as possible: baby consultations. It is a mistake to think that temporary teeth are not going to be treated because they are going to fall out. Children with cavities in primary teeth are at greater risk of having cavities in permanent teeth.

At Centro Clínico de Especialidades Odontológicas we have a Paediatric Dentistry room (El Diente Valiente) completely adapted to the needs of the little ones, so that the experience of visiting the dentist is enjoyable and far away from trauma. Our children’s dental chair (Dino) is the most fun, and in it, our children live a lot of adventures (adventures that begin in The Magic Forest, our playroom).
